ABOUT RISE UP RACE TEAM 

Rise Up Training™ and Aaron Volkoff, of the Human Body Lab, have partnered to create the Rise Up Race Team. The race team was founded for individuals looking to get more out of their OCR training, targeting their specific race goals. These goals can include a variety of OCR races brands and distances including Spartan, Tough Mudder, US OCR, Epic Series, and more, as well as, a few trail and/or road racers in between. The race team is looking for athletes that consider themselves Elite and Age Group competitors who have a desire for personalized programming, nutrition strategies to support your training and races, and sports performance testing to know your specific needs . The goal of the Race Team is for all athletes to improve their performance, remain injury free, have a group of fellow athletes to train, eat (Coach V’s monthly BBQ’s are a perk) and do life with. It’s also an added bonus when the race team gets on the podium, places in top ten in your age group, or qualifies for a US or World Championship race. Plus, we have the best cheering squad around.

Each athlete looking to be part of the Rise Up Race Team must attend tryouts. Each racer will be evaluated based on Rise Up Training’s (RUT) 7 Pillars of Performance; Strength, Agility, Strength/Cardio, Conditioning Endurance, Strength Balance, Explosive Conditioning, and Obstacles. Tryouts are held quarterly and making the team requires a 3 month commitment to the program. Are you looking elevate your performance and to take your OCR Race game to the next level? MEET COACH V

Aaron Volkoff or Coach “V” as he is known, is the program director for the Rise Up Race Team, his responsibilities include performance testing (VO2max, RMR, & FMS), individual athlete race and training plan development along with guidance on nutrition and recovery. Prior to joining the OCR world & Rise Up Race Team, he  worked with various groups as a strength & conditioning coach, as well as a position and an event coach in a variety of sports; including track & field, cross country, football, water polo, softball, volleyball and triathlon.  His unique background in training both endurance and power athletes have provided him the skilled ability and understanding to develop proper training routines for OCR athletes. Coach Volkoff graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Exercise Science. He is FMS Level 2 and SGX certified.

FAQ’s

Do all Race Team Member have to do all the same races?

No, each Race Team member will most likely not have identical race schedules.

Do you have to work out at RUT Camp to be on the Race Team?

No, but we think it is one of the Perks!

Do you have to live local to be on the Race Team?

No, if you are interest in racing for Rise Up Race Team and do not live locally contact fill out the contact for below and we will get in touch as how you can be part of our satellite program and off site tryout.

Yes, the bulk of the money will go towards testing and individualized programming.

Yes, as part of making the race team, you will be provided with customized race gear.

Not unless you want to! Your training program will be specific to what fits your needs and schedule. Some trainings will be the same as others, but you will not necessarily be required to do the training at the same time or on the same day. Also, RUT Camp classes can be part of your program.

Tryouts will be held quarterly, so the opportunity is not lost. 

What if I want performance testing but don’t want to be on the Race Team?

All of our performance testing is conducted by the human body lab. You can head over to their website and sign up for their services.
